Each year, the Northern California Laborers District Council and the Southern California Laborers District Council host fundraiser events to raise money for their respective scholarship foundations. These foundations provide grants to the sons and daughters of laborers to attend post-secondary institutions.
In 2014, the two scholarship foundations raised more than $400,000 for more than 150 dependent children of laborers. If you would like to participate in or sponsor one of these worthwhile events, click one of the links below

Beginning in 1936 cars and trains were able to go between San Francisco and Oakland as they never had before. That year, the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge was put into service after many years of planning and three years of construction. An incredible engineering feat, the Bay Bridge was the largest and most expensive bridge of its time.
