Laborers' Health & Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA)
In today's fast moving society, everyone is in a hurry. Owners want their projects completed yesterday. Superintendents and foremen often push the limits to the edge to meet tight deadlines. But experienced owners and contractors know that this is a dangerous approach. Experienced owners and contractors value safety more than speed.
Safety is at the heart of everything Union Laborers do. The LHSFNA is a partnership between the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) and its signatory contractors to improve and extend the lives of Laborers and their families, reduce costs for employers, and address vital health and safety issues, on the jobsite and at home.
Safe workers and safe work sites increase productivity, reduce costs, and save lives. LHSFNA makes this easy and affordable by accessing the knowledge and expertise of its staff of industrial hygienists, construction safety specialists, occupational health nurses, and others - on a wide range of health and safety issues.
The innovative programs of the Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America are aimed at limiting lost workdays, controlling workers' compensation costs, handling regulatory obligations, training company safety officials and ensuring a focused workforce.
