For purposes of this website, we have designated certain local unions as "specialty local unions."
These are local unions which represent a specific type of construction laborers, and have jurisdiction that overlaps or coincides with the general construction local unions listed in this website. Or, as in the case of Local 1184, the general construction local union has been given expanded jurisdiction for certain classifications of work, such as striping, plastering and directional boring.

Local 166: Represents Hod Carriers in Alameda County.
Local 886: Represents Lumber Handlers, Shipyards, Industrial Iron, Public Employees, Concrete Vault & Dock Workers in Alameda County
Southern CA District Council
Local 300: Represents Environmental Workers in the 12 counties of Southern California.
Local 345: Represents Gunite Workers in the 12 counties of Southern California.
Local 1184: Represents Laborers working for Striping and Directional Boring Contractors in the 12 counties of Southern California.
Local 1414: Represents Hod Carriers in the 12 counties of Southern California.
